With this course location we are able to cover a wide variety of native plants growing in there natural environment. The course is specific to plants that grow in and around a river ecosystem. We cover, on the average, 25 to 30 edible species and several toxic species. We will also demonstrate how to prepare the plants we study as well as tasting.
This course teaches the fundamentals of wilderness survival hunting in scenic Utah County, Utah. We cover these basics: wilderness survival hunting weapons, tracking principals, camouflage, and animal behavior.
Our program has taken the stress out of finding the hike, finding someone to go with and finding the time. The hikes are charted to get an exhilarating workout in a short amount of time, usually only one to two hours. We will also touch on trail etiquette, appropriate clothing, first aide, and diet.
The Wilderness Survival Adventures are designed to develop a personal confidence in the outdoors. Some of the skills that we will be developing are: fire by friction methods, survival hunting, survival fishing, survival trapping, orienteering, shelter building, wild edible plants, and team building dynamics, as well as mental and physical stamina.
